To celebrate a new tradition of generosity during the holiday season,
Maryland is setting a goal to be the
Most Generous State in America
on 12.1.15, #GivingTuesday.

Subscribe to the campaign as a Partner so that we can count on – and communicate with – you!

#MarylandGivesMore is a movement to make Maryland the Most Generous State in America on 12.1.15 aka #GivingTuesday. Convened by Maryland Nonprofits, #MarylandGivesMore is a day for all of us to give back. Whether you’re an everyday giver, a corporate giver, a foundation, or a small business, you can get involved, give to your favorite causes, activate your social network, and make Maryland the Most Generous State in America. Nationally, #GivingTuesday is a movement to add a national day of giving on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. December 1, 2015 marks the fourth national #GivingTuesday.

We want every nonprofit in Maryland to get involved in #MarylandGivesMore!

The first step is to Subscribe to the campaign as a Partner so that we can communicate with you.

Second, choose how you’ll run your fundraiser! You can set up a fundraiser on the #MarylandGivesMore page at Crowdrise.com, or via your website’s Donate page, or your existing donation platform – or all three! Choose the fundraising method that best fits your organization’s needs. Whatever you decide, the most important thing to remember is to REPORT-IN your total dollars raised here on this site on #GivingTuesday, 12.1.15 – there will be an easy-to-identify REPORT-IN link on the homepage.

Last but not least, visit the Nonprofit Toolkit where you can download all kinds of helpful campaign resources such as the free e-book, “Guide to a Successful Giving Day,” or free #MarylandGivesMore marketing collateral (jpegs, logos, etc!).

Publicize how your employees give back year-round on social media or your blog – use our free branding tools. Create a volunteering initiative for your staff on #GivingTuesday – be sure to sign up as a #MarylandGivesMore partner and REPORT IN your total volunteer hours donated (hours will be monetized and counted towards the state-wide goal). Or, go even further and make a financial donation by committing a % of the day’s proceeds to a local cause.

In 2014, Maryland had the biggest fundraiser in the nation on #GivingTuesday, RAISING OVER $9.2 MILLION IN JUST ONE DAY. Hundreds of nonprofits raised dollars and awareness for their causes. This year, Maryland Nonprofits is working to convene every organization in the state that’s participating in #GivingTuesday – and count every dollar raised. We know we can reach the goal together!

Leadership Team

The initiative, aptly titled “Maryland Gives More” is led by the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations (Maryland Nonprofits) which has brought together a diverse and dedicated group of organizations to raise awareness for #GivingTuesday and help reach the fundraising goal. including:
